Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of findtool.dev and the tools it provides. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. The service

FindTool provides free developer utilities that run in your web browser. No account is required and no payment is taken. We may add, change, or remove tools at any time, and we may stop providing the service altogether.

3. No warranty

The tools are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make them correct, but we do not guarantee that any tool is free of errors, that its output is accurate or fit for a particular purpose, or that the site will be available without interruption.

This matters in practice. Do not rely on a FindTool tool as the only check on something important. In particular: a successful JWT signature verification here does not replace proper verification in your application; a hash computed here should be confirmed with your platform's own tooling before it gates a release; and generated passwords should be stored in a password manager rather than trusted to a browser tab.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FindTool and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including data loss, lost profits, or business interruption. Because the service is free, the total liability for any claim is limited to zero.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the site to process data you do not have the right to process, or for any unlawful purpose
• attempt to disrupt the site, its hosting infrastructure, or other people's use of it
• scrape or automate the site at a volume that degrades it for others; the content is static and cheap to serve, but sustained automated traffic is not what it is for
• misrepresent FindTool output as certified, audited, or as a substitute for professional security or legal advice

6. Your data

The content you enter into a tool stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us. You remain responsible for it, including for ensuring you are permitted to process it. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

7. Intellectual property

The FindTool name, logo, site design and written explanations on tool pages are owned by the operators of the site. The output a tool produces from your input is yours — we claim no rights over it. You may not copy the site's explanatory content wholesale for a competing site.

8. Third-party links

Pages may link to external documentation and specifications. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

9. Advertising

The site may display advertising in future. Where it does, ads will be clearly labelled and visually separated from tool controls. Any transaction you enter into with an advertiser is between you and them.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change when we do, and continued use of the site after that date means you accept the revised terms.
